Who publishes Descent Passport Check
Radif Partners
Independent publisher of a multi-country citizenship by descent checker for Americans, built from nationality laws and consular pages
Descent Passport Check is published by Radif Partners, a company that builds free calculators from laws and government pages. This one answers a question millions of American families ask once a relative mentions the old country: does a grandmother born in Cork, a great-grandfather from Calabria or a father from Kraków give us a second passport today?
Why one tree for 19 countries
Most families have more than one line. The same person may have an Irish grandmother, a Polish great-grandfather and a German one, and each country counts generations, naturalization dates and the role of mothers differently. The checker takes the tree once and applies each country's dated rules side by side, so a family can see which line is worth the paperwork.
What it is not
It is not a consulate, a ministry or a law firm, and its answers are not legal advice. It does not take applications, book appointments or review files. It recommends no lawyer, genealogist or agency, and no one pays to be mentioned.
Funding
Nothing is sold: no consultation, report, document retrieval or membership. Advertising may appear in a few marked places, never inside a tool or between a question and its answer.
Your family data
Years and relationships you type stay in your browser. They are not stored, not sent and not used to build a profile. A shared link carries only the years you chose to put in it.
Corrections
Nationality laws moved fast in 2025 and 2026: Italy, Canada, Spain, Portugal and Sweden all changed. If a rule or a fee here no longer matches the official page, write to contact@descentpassport.com with the page concerned. The editorial policy explains what happens next and the method page how each verdict is built.
